Common Types

Neon Tester Pen

The basic and most economical type, with a neon bulb inside. It judges the presence of voltage by the brightness of the neon bulb (no numerical display), suitable for detecting AC voltage of 50~500V (the mainstream voltage range for household and industrial low-voltage circuits).

Digital Tester Pen

Equipped with an LCD screen, it can directly display the measured voltage value (e.g., 220V, 36V). It supports low-voltage detection and has higher accuracy, suitable for fine circuit testing.

Non-contact Electric Tester Pen

An inductive type that does not need to touch the metal conductor. It triggers a light/sound alarm when close to a live object (usually detecting AC 90~1000V), which is fast and safe for quick fault location of wires and sockets.

Usage:

To use it, one simply places the tip on the conductor to be tested and touches the end cap with a finger. If the neon bulb lights up, voltage is present.
